Stepping Into The Next Chapter
Welcome! Blessed and happy Summer Solstice!
Hey, beautiful souls!
I’m so excited that this very first post is happening the day after the Summer Solstice. I had planned on posting yesterday, but yesterday got away from me pretty quickly. My hubs and I had what we called a Celebratory Feast of Bonded Spirits, and we had done a handfasting earlier in the day. This Summer Solstice, we are stepping into the next chapter in SO many ways here! We have a child stepping into the next chapter of school, my hubs and I are stepping into the next chapter of our lives together, the Summer Solstice brings with it the next chapter in the seasons, and lastly, This Average Witch is the next chapter and the next evolution of my witchy and spiritual journey (more on that in a moment).
The handfasting was a very intimate thing for us. We had gone out and gotten tattoos a couple of days before, and we wanted to do something that was going to be just something between us. So, yesterday morning we took some time to break from daily life and preparations to go out next to our garden and perform our handfasting. Just the two of us. It was perfect and magical.
There were thunderstorms in the forecast for the day, and we found out at the end of the night that while the thunderstorm had been heading our way, the system split in two to go around our area and rejoined with itself after passing us. We made sure to give thanks to the energies that allowed for that to happen!
SO. With that update out of the way…
If you’ve followed me from one of my other socials then you already know that This Average Witch is an evolution of A Witchful Journey. That also means that you’ve been following along with me for at least a little while now. And for that, I want to say: Thank you so much for the continued love and support, I love you all!

Hi. I’m April, the producer, host, writer, et cetera for This Average Witch. I did a bi-weekly podcast under the title of A Witchful Journey for a little over a year and early this spring I was really feeling like the podcast needed to go into a transformation stage. You can still check out the older episodes for now while I continue to work out the logistics of completing the shift from old to new.
My goal is to have everything up and ready to go by mid-July so that podcast episodes can resume on a weekly basis. Podcast seasons will run for 16 weeks, with a 12 week break between each season. Throughout it all, I’ll be sprinkling in extras, which I’ll go into more detail on soon!
